Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail oriented General Laboratory Technician to join a busy soil testing lab. This role supports day-to-day operation of the laboratory by preparing, processing and testing soil samples, while ensuring accurate results and maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, label and store incoming soil samples
- Prepare soil samples for testing, including drying, sieving, splitting and other pre-analytical processes
- Carry out routine laboratory tests in accordance with internal methods and industry standards
- Accurately record test data and input results into laboratory systems
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health, safety and quality procedures
- Support general laboratory duties
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a laboratory
- Basic understanding of lab processes and sample handling
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of team
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Willingness to carry out repetitive and hands-on tasks
- Basic IT skills for data entry and reporting

Job Type: Full-time (Temporary to Permanent )
Salary: £12.71/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 07:00AM – 15:30PM
