The initial contract is for approximately four months, covering a leaver and maternity leave. Depending on performance, training progression and future staffing needs, there may be a scope for a longer-term or permanent opportunity.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on analytical role, suited to someone who is organised, efficient, and keen to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting routine and semi-routine soil and environmental laboratory analyses.
- Running analytical instruments and inspecting results for method performance.
- Instruments may include Gallery analysers, TOCs, HPLC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS and others.
- Loading soil samples, preparing batches, and ensuring correct preparation for analysis.
- Processing, importing, and reviewing results within laboratory information management system.
- Performing analytical testing in line with documented SOPs.
- Recording, verifying, and carrying out basic interpretation of analytical data.
- Ensuring all work meets quality, compliance, and health and safety standards.
- Supporting method execution and maintaining analytical throughput in a fast-paced soil testing environment.

Hours : Monday to Friday 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
Contract: Fixed- term (initial 4 months), with potential for extension or permanency
